World Fashion Awards expands into new continent with the launch of the SA Fashion Awards
The World Fashion Awards (WFA) is proud to announce the official nominees for the 1st Annual South Africa Fashion Awards (SAFA), taking place on Saturday, 4 October 2025 at Hotel Sky, Sandton.
The South Africa Fashion Awards mark a historic expansion of the World Fashion Awards into Africa, celebrating the extraordinary creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation of South Africa’s fashion industry. Presented in proud partnership with Republic Africa and supporting the Diamond Children’s Foundation, the SAFA 2025 ceremony will shine a global spotlight on the designers, models, stylists, influencers, and brands redefining the continent’s cultural landscape.
The 2025 nominees highlight the breadth of South Africa’s creative ecosystem, spanning luxury couture, sustainable fashion, streetwear, retail, and digital influence.
Iconic fashion designer David Tlale will also be receiving the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, alongside seven surprising icons due to receive the Outstanding Contribution to Fashion Award.
Public voting opens on 9 September 2025 via Telephonos, and winners will be revealed at the red-carpet ceremony, broadcast live on VooVix.
